In case you missed the quick memo, this is a restart of my Rainbow Legacy. My computer crashed, and took my original family with it. So, I restarted it. As for the Skybelt name, it's somewhere in the archives of the original family, but rest assured, it was interesting! It involved a lesson in Turkish Grammar! And a lot of accent marks. :3 Anyway...

We start off without Founder: Chartruese Skybelt. She is smarter than her predecessor, sort of.
Knowledge Sim, LTW of being a Mad Scientist. That's... all I can remember. I forgot to write it all down D:

Straight to the Welcome Wagon (tm). It actually brings a Potential Mate, too. Not too bad, though I have to wonder about his hair.
His name is Dominic Wong. *insert imature joke here; guess it's better than Wang?*

Char was digging in the dirt for some Cash Items (yay bones!), she sprung a leak!
She's freaking out and Dom over there comes over to...mop up muddy soil? HOW DOES THIS WORK?

This was potential suiter number 2. Char never got out to meet him and he never walked by again.

Hey guys!

Sorry for the serious lack of updates. Unfortunately, my computer decided to tell me off, and go roll over and die. Which means I ended up having to reformat and lost all my Sims Data.

Sadface.

Since I wanted to try to get as far as this challenge as possible before Sims 3 comes out (or even to continue it depending on how I like said game), I'm going to reboot the legacy. Chartreuse will be reborn...Hopefully smarter.

Thanks for the understanding, and hopefully the first repost'll happen soon! (as soon as I find my Bon voyage CD....)

Yay, another update! This has been sitting in unedited screenshot format for a bit, mainly because RL took a huge bat and clubbed me upside the head a few times (I'll summarize at the end of the update). So, because of that, it's another semi-short (~40 pictures), and with percoset-colored commentary.

Last time on our Legacy: Chartreuse the Founder was introduced, Husband was found and progeny was made. A dude stole her sammich, and the husband decided he wanted to be frickaseed moments after the birth of his first born. But he was saved through the dimwitted pleadings of his wife--who decided to tempt Death and dance in a puddle during a lightning storm. And with that, we closed out the only 'Yellow' update this legacy will have, because I'm anxious and the second generation is in full swing.

To start this off, we get the *SPROING* of yet another 2nd Generation bun. Chartreuse looks at last marginally clued this time. Don't ask about the hand.

I'm allowed to invite a certain number over, and I do, and they're all Family Friends, but they never show up and I get the "you should get to know them better" message. Even if I have a 100 daily/lifetime with them. WTH? Q___Q

With our second potential heiress (and probably last as I don't feel like juggling a lot of babies right away, especially with Char not being a family sim) born, we felt it was time to try to get Gold into private school. Both Nick and Char had wants for it, so why the hell not. Meet Mr. Headmaster.

Meet the Skybelts after Headmaster has left. Attempts to get into private school, failed. Meal was good but need to work on the tour.... Chartreuse though, blames NIck. Lazy ass.

Char: Hmmm....your head, on a platter... it shall be my next masterpiece.

What she can't look at I can't remember. It was either her father's horrid schmoozing (failed to get in yet again!) or something else.

Amber grows up! I am positively tickled I got one of each skin tone :3

Gold's OTH is Music and Dance. She adores her violin. I think Creativity's the only skill she's got high, though. This one doesn't like the studying.

That should sum things up. :) Meet my son, Aidan Kyle. He was born last monday (15 Sept). Unfortunately, it was an emergency situation, and he was born 5 weeks early. So, I not only have to deal with a c-section (so much owie right now still), but also a premie. Though, fortunately, not uber_premie. He was able to come home after a week.

He takes a lot of my brainpower. And then the percoset takes the rest of it, LOL. Too bad I couldn't just make faces, shout Shooflea! spin around and BOOM. Baby. Ah well. :)

Rainbow Legacy 1.0

Greetings! I stumbled upon rainbowlegacy, reading others' challenges, and decided to give it ago. So, thus, I present to you my introductory post.

So, without further ado, I present to you, the Skybelt family.

(Yes, there is very little Teh_Funny :( I was doped up on Allergy Meds writing this)

First off, why "Skybelt"? Because my husband knows him a decent bit of Turkish, so when I was looking for a family name, I asked him what 'rainbow' was. He, naturally, did. not. know. So, we hit up ye auld Google to find out. We were presented with the word: gökkuşağı. Yes, the word looks like someone vomited accent marks all over it. TURKISH IS FULL OF THIS STUFF. And it's pronounced like... let's see, that last g is silent, and that's an undotted "i", with the s there and it's mark, that's an "sh", so that last part is "shayuh"... and I think the first is more of a guk... so ... guk-kushayuh.

....This is why I don't speak this language.

AHEM. So, deciding that an accent-vomited word would not make a good Family Name (Especially when you have to spend 5 minutes trying to remember how to say it properly and mangle it ten bazillion times in the process), Hubby pointed something out. The word (which is actually two words slammed together) do not reverse-translate into "Rainbow". It's more like "sky belt". And with that, the lightbulb went off over my head, and I had my Family Name.

And you guys get a lesson in Turkish grammar.

Meet Nicholas...something. I've forgotten what his "maiden" (har har) name was. Not a bad looker, and somehow, despite not having any of Char's turn ons, the two of them hit triple lightning bolts. So, hey, why the hell not. And I also discovered, though you can't see it well here, He looks like Christopher Judge! ... You'll know who that is if you watch Stargate (Teal'c).

Char's a Vampire?! WHEN--oh you're just smoochin'. Carry on. (Triple lightning bolts means this happens within the first day of meeting, go fig)

My first meltdown of the legacy. Seriously, it wasn't /that/ bad of a painting D:

Yet, despite the breakdown, the Ninja-Gypsy sought to leave a lamp! Well, this should cheer her up.

...Apparently, yes. Her first wish for Wealth worked. Figured, Wealth Sim, they'd want money. Then I'd try my hand at the Peace of Mind wish. Got that one too. Look Ma! No need to fill Lifetime Want!

Paintin' in lingerie and in the Zone (tm). And a good shot at the bathroom since I phail at picture taking.

Char: Teehee, silly little man. We're married and I'm pregnant... it's way past "Best Friends" I think.

...I'd say their relationship is relatively healthy. And NIce "Underwear" there, Nick. (Also, you can sort of see some of the Teal'c-ness in this shot)

After the baby was born, Char was making a friend, and I pan over to...this. Dumbass decided to do...something and got struck by lightning!

You know, I can only be glad she's in her every day clothes and not her Ho-jamas (though I like them, since I picked them out!)

Char: um...What were the rules again? I got lost at "choose a hand"....

Char: Uh... inny minny... Um... what am I doing again?

Death: You guys better not end up like the Drops, I"m tellin' ya.

There's a REASON Char has a "dumb blonde" voice in my head. Even Random Dude (tm) is giving Char WTF looks for hopping around in a puddle, during a Thunderstorm RIGHT AFTER NICK JUST GOT REZZED.

Natural Selection fails, so Char gets into The Zone (tm) by looking at her own Founder Portrait....
